The small business venue will play host to a miniature Christmas market throughout November and December.

Leeds Corn Exchange is decking the halls with a brand new Christmas market.

The market will host a variety of independent businesses, musicians and more in the 150 year old building.

The market will feature a variety of food stalls such as Raclettmenot, which serves delicious crispy new potatoes smothered in Raclette cheese.

Masri, a family run Egyptian food vendor, had a “successful” weekend selling beef shawarma and falafel burgers.

The food stall was once a dream for Stephanie Tarrad and her husband Ahmed, but they made that dream a reality back in 2020 when they opened their own food stall.

“We noticed that there wasn’t much Egyptian food in Leeds and Yorkshire; my husband is a chef so Masri was a dream we had spoke about for years.”

“The opportunity came up to do a festival just before Covid and it was really successful.”

Stephanie and her family all got involved at the market and attracted quite a crowd.

“The venue was beautiful; the event was organised really well.”

“We attracted a lot of the Egyptian community in Leeds and since last weekend our following on Facebook and Instagram has increased.”

“We would love to run the stall full time. Me and my husband love it and our daughter loves getting involved as well.”

It wasn’t just food that was on the menu, guests could also sample a variety beverages such as gin and craft beer.

There was also live music and the venue had been decked out in Christmas decorations .

The event will be held every Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 12 until 10 PM up until December 23rd.
