Popular cleaning and home branch Wilko launched a new cleaning festival this week which took place in Leeds, hosted at Trinity shopping centre. With special guest appearances including cleaning influencer, Lynsey “The Queen of clean”.

The free event took place on Wednesday 12 October from 9am till 4pm.

The event was decorated with a bath full of colourful balls, examples of tidy and untidy rooms, muddy shoes, plenty of free Wilko products and even a DJ.

Cleaning influencer and ITV’s This Morning guest, Lynsey Crombie held a Q and A session upstairs in the main event space which involved the public asking her for tips and her best cleaning secrets.

The Queen of clean talked about her favourite products, “White vinegar and bicarb are up there,” she explained the most basic products are her staples.

People were keen to chat to the bestselling author about her most effective cleaning hacks as there was a queue out of the door.

The Q and A dealt with some common cleaning challenges like how to keep on top of pet odour, how to deal with spilt wine on the carpet, and many more useful household cleaning tips.

Downstairs there was a make shift cinema with popcorn, showing some expert top tips for cleaning and DIY.

With designated areas of the house like the kitchen and bedroom the staff were on hand to walk and talk you through problem areas and solutions for keeping on top of mess.

Wilko was handing out plenty of their products for free and had a spin the wheel where you could win all sorts of prizes including gift cards.

The staff at the event were also around to answer any questions about their products and were handing out leaflets with specific instructions detailing exactly how to use each product for the best effect.

This event is great for anyone who loves cleaning or for someone who wants to get more stuck into knowing which is the best product for the job.
