A horrifying scene took place in Batley this weekend when a car sped through Kake Temptations cake shop window and hit a customer. Three fire engines, two ambulances and six West Yorkshire police cars were called to the scene.

Finn Goodall was an eyewitness at the scene he said: “I was just having a coffee with my mate like normal when suddenly, a car just flew through the front window of the shop and glass was shattered everywhere and this woman went flying across the room. It was really awful, we couldn’t tell at first how injured she was.

“The staff were incredible, they immediately came to the attention of the woman to check if she was okay and the police arrived almost instantly then the ambulances arrived, it was really good to see how quickly everyone responded to the emergency you really can’t fault it.”

Miraculously, the victim was not seriously harmed and is being treated for minor injuries. The Kake Temptations bakery have made a statement that they will have to remain closed until further notice whilst the shop is repaired. No arrests have been made in connection with the incident.
