Scream Park makes horrifying return to Hell Lane

The Yorkshire Scream Park is back this year for another thrill filled Halloween experience.

The Yorkshire Scare Grounds Scream Park has opened its gates to the public once again for the yearly attraction on Wakefield’s Hell Lane.

With new features, the opening week saw the introduction of Clown Clinic, Krampus and the Whitechapel Vampires, combining both the outdoor and indoor elements.

The grounds have been created by the minds of Fear Masters Studio Entertainment who have brought forward the huge variety of themed sections in the forests of Wakefield.

Tickets are selling for £26 and must be pre booked due to an influx of willing victims who have visited the grounds nightly since their opening on Friday the 6th of October.

Emily Ramskill, a Pontefract resident, has been attending the grounds for the last five years. Upon venturing into the horror this year, she said, “This is my fifth time attending the Scream Park attraction in Wakefield and I definitely think this has been the best year by far. Every year there are different attractions like killer clowns, clinics, vampires, and they had a Krampus one this year”.

“The anticipation before entering the grounds is so fun even when queueing to go inside, it’s hilarious and scary as actors walk around in character and scare you.”

Customers are encouraged to visit Jack’s Backyard which features a licensed bar and food trucks, with some entertainment from the familiar characters.

Other establishments in Leeds have also been preparing for Halloween.

Smiffy’s Fancy Dress, based in Leeds City Centre, sees an increase in customers in the weeks leading up to the event. The manager of the store, Samantha, has witnessed a rise in students purchasing outfits in past Halloweens.

She said, “I’ve dealt with the students for so many years, they come in have a look and then go back to their flatmates and team mates and talk about what they can do as a team or if they’re gonna do individuals.”

With Halloween fast approaching, Leeds is buzzing with anticipation.
