Jamie Spencer, Park Avenue’s midfielder, is sidelined until next season with an ACL injury.

Bradford Park Avenue (BPA) have struggled this season and have been crippled with injuries; Manager Mark Bower said: “We’ve got such a thin squad, absolutely decimated by injuries…6 currently missing including key players like Spenno (Spencer), it’s hard”.

“He’s a terrific player first and foremost, but he’s a good man and a true leader for the team… he’s vocal, experienced and we need players like him in these hard times” said the boss.

Spencer expressed his frustration: “It’s been tough. I’ve gone from having a busy life with football, work and walking my dogs to being locked up in the house with a knee brace on. It’s difficult to adapt to but I’ve got hope”.

BPA currently sit 19th, in the relegation zone. However, Jamie is sure the team will have a turn in form: “We have struggled in recent weeks but the team are keen to put the results right for the fans. We have a great set of lads, who I trust can turn it around whilst I’m out.”

Spencer joined Park Avenue at the start of the season from Guiseley AFC, winning the goal of the season there for his goal against Scarborough. This is his second spell at The Horsfall Stadium, applying his trade back in 2019 before being transferred to Guiseley AFC.
