Leeds Independent FC take 7 losses on the bounce

Leeds independent play in the Yorkshire Amateur league in division 2 after gaining promotion last season, they haven’t had the start to the season which they would have been hoping for as they take 7th defeat on the bounce after 4-1 loss away at Middleton Park.

Leeds independent have struggled to replicate last seasons form in recent weeks.

Despite tough start team manager Abbas Motaz is still confident they can turn things around, ”Of course 7 losses is nothing to be proud of but coming into a new division isn’t easy for any team, game by game were improving and i am confident results will start to swing our way.”

Leeds independent currently have a goal difference of -18 after only netting 8 goals so far whilst conceding 26.

When asked about how this start is mentally having an affect on the players Motaz explained ”It is frustrating but the boys know their ability and we have got to turn up to every game and give one hundred percent taking each game as it comes and not think about past results.”

Motaz believes his players are still up for the challenge and get back to last seasons form. ”The boys are definitely in high spirits and will will bring energy to every game we play.”

Leeds Independent striker Zion Morris spoke on whats quite gone wrong, ”Were playing against tougher opponents and its a lot more physical in this league than we were expecting.” Just like Motaz, Morris is also confident they can improve. ”We have started to net a few goals and im sure there is more coming and the results should follow.”

Morris further ensures team morale is high, ”We know we have to keep working hard but the lads still have the right mentality to do so and we will put our all into every game we play.”

Leeds Independent will return to action in November after a well needed break to see if they can start turning results in their favour leading into the winter break.
