Saul Musengeyi has taken the role of Leeds Beckett 2's player manager and they are on winning form

Saul Musengeyi is the new Leeds Beckett Player Manager this season after former coach Andrew Head has graduated and moved on.

The former Beckett attacker will now revert to a more experienced role as he quests to win the league for the second year on the bounce in a higher division.

Musengeyi stated: “With two games and two wins against tough and experienced opponents, I can’t be more pleased with the boys.

“We were lucky with the bunch of freshers that came in, and even having the returners from last year [winning the league] it’s good to have them.”

Andrew Head won the league and got to a cup final, which they lost against Manchester Met, however Saul hopes to do one better in domestic competitions.

“We [kind of] implement his tactics, but we’re playing a lot stronger teams that will attack us a lot more… we’ve worked more on our defensive shape which I think we’ve improved on and look better than last year.”

With three wins in three games (recorded before their win against Uni of Leeds) Saul Musengeyi will be pleased with his start.
