Halifax’s next game is next Saturday, an away fixture against Maidenhead United. That two-week break is a blessing for Chris Millington’s side who are currently plagued with injuries.
The injury list includes centre-back Festus Arthur, midfielders Luke Summerfield, Jack Evans, and Jamie Cooke as well as attackers Rob Harker and Angelo Capello.
Last time out, the Shaymen drew 1-1 away against York City as Florent Hoti’s wondergoal was cancelled out by York’s Patrick Mclaughlin in added time. Millington touched on why Town couldn’t hang on to their lead in a post-match interview stating “We’ve rolled out the same players for a number of weeks now and we’re really short.”
Halifax are currently 6th in the Vanarama National League and will be regretting not taking all 3 points from the York fixture. A win would have seen them sitting more comfortably in 5th, one place higher in the playoff positions.
We got the opportunity to speak to Millington post-match about his overall thoughts on the result, how injuries are impacting the team and how the players can benefit from the short break before the Maidenhead game.
