While National Transport day celebrates all things travel, Leeds are working towards a particular goal; a greener future with things like electric buses, additional cycling lanes and pedestrian friendly planning being implemented.
The effort to minimalise its carbon footprint in the next 5 years consists of reshaping urban identity and how people travel as local transport accounts for a significant portion of the city’s emissions. Leeds city council found 96.7% of people think public sector organisation’s should make it easier for individuals to make more eco-friendly choices, which will be additional to the spike of sustainable transport.
