Pop and Bark, is a company that is most famous for their appearance on Dragon’s Den, and they host events for dogs of all shapes and sizes. This weekend, they came to Leeds’s Revolución de Cuba to hold their doggy meet up.
The founders of Pop and Bark, James Morgan and Anushka Fernando, never got their investment from the dragons, but the company is soaring, touring around the UK.
They have hosted up to 250,000 events now, over the space of 6 years. Uniting dog lovers from around England to meet up, but more importantly, uniting dogs of the same breed. It allows them play, eat puppuccino’s and meet Santa paws in a chaotic, hour-long session.
Sebastian Maitre, Events Manager at Pop and Bark, said:
“The greatest takeaway is the emotion that people feel here, I mean, it absolutely makes some people’s days or even, years which makes everyone really thankful for what we do”
“As a society what we do for them is the most rewarding thing, the social element for them, their dog and everyone else is great. People get to meet like-minded individuals with dogs of the same breed and connect with them and make new friendships.”
Helen Holmes, an attendee of the event, has Multiple Sclerosis and gave us an insight on what dog-assisted living is like and how much her retriever, Winnie, has helped her.
“She is my mental health, she is my wellbeing, she is my everything. You can’t have a bad day if you have a Winnie.”
Bournemouth and Milton Keynes are the next location for the café, so keep your eyes peeled if you’re nearby.
