October is Breast Cancer awareness month, and one Leeds restaurant is going the extra mile to spread awareness of this important cause. Mr T’s a well-known takeaway that has gone the extra mile and changed their iconic yellow packaging for a good cause. For the entire month of October their food and drinks will be in pink packaging to get people to talk about breast cancer, reduce stigma and encourage people to check their breasts and complete early screenings if needed. “I didn’t even know it was breast cancer awareness month, so it’s a great reminder to check if your body feels off,” said one customer.

The stigma that breast cancer only effects the older demographic is a false narrative and by doing the pink package Mr T’s is targeting the younger generation to stay vigilant. If you are unsure how to check for Breast Cancer yourself you can head to Breast Cancer Now’s website where they give a full guide on how to Touch, Look and Check. One in seven women will develop breast cancer in their life and it’s not only the Mr T’s in Leeds that has gone pink, but all 13 locations of Mr T’s have also gone pink for this cause.
