- You must have the right to use all images added to Leeds Now
- You must attribute those images correctly, even if you took them
- You must edit and save the images elsewhere before uploading them
- there is a 1MB limit on file uploads, so you will need to resize or crop all images to a maximum 1200px width, and ideally a landscape ratio of 4:3. Featured images MUST be in landscape format.
- you need to save the images with a descriptive name, including the photographer and copyright info, e.g. comfycat-katiehall-allrightsreserved.jpg
- IF YOUR IMAGES HAVE NOT BEEN NAMED CORRECTLY THEY WILL BE REMOVED!
- You can use public domain images ONLY from the Instant Images tab – please do not use OpenVerse images. You need to copy the credit info from the Title field into the Image Source field.
- You must fill out the Alt text – you can use AI for this. Upload the image and ask it to generate accessible alt text.
- You must add the Image Source details – if you took the picture you can click ‘Standard Source’ and it will add your name. Then select a license that you’re happy to share it under. I recommend All Rights Reserved. (By the way, this also means that your coursemates won’t be allowed to use it in their stories unless they have written permission from you.)
- For the Featured Image, you ALSO need to add the source details in the Title field.
- Preview to see how the source appears and check everything is okay.
