Since January 2017 and October 2025, there has been 14,566 reports of graffiti in Leeds.
What types of graffiti can vary, but examples include tags, throw ups, and pieces that can be found throughout Leeds’s street.
Despite this, in 2023, West Yorkshire Police said that graffiti was not their main focus, prioritizing violent crime and abuse cases.
However, if left unchallenged, graffiti can harm the environment, businesses, and property values because of the adverse effects it causes.
So, with the rise of graffiti in Leeds, it raises concerns about if the city of Leeds is doing enough to stop graffiti.
