Bramley has been left without a Bonfire Night celebration for another year, as Leeds City Council continues to rule out bringing back its annual display.
The council’s last organised bonfire at Bramley Park took place in 2019, before six council-run events across Leeds were discontinued in 2023.
Budget pressures have been cited as a reason for the decision, with no plans to reinstate the celebrations in 2026.
With Bonfire Night approaching, some residents would like to see the event return.

Our reporters get out and about

Our third year Multiplatform Journalism students are reporting on stories across Leeds today, for radio bulletins, online articles, social media and two separate radio programmes at 3pm and 3.30pm today.

Each programme will have an OB – one from Harehills and one from Bramley. So I’ll be sharing some updates from the groups out on location.
