A Covid-19 booster jab is now available for people who are over 50 and those who are classed as being ‘high risk’.

Covid boosters are now being offered to those who are high risk, over 50, and have already received a double vaccination at least 6 months ago. This is to help contain Covid-19 as we head into colder seasons.

A third dose of the vaccine is hoping to increase the likelihood of immunity for those who are eligible to receive it.

Corona symptoms such as loss of taste and smell, aching, sore throat and sneezing are supposed to decrease even more with a booster vaccine.

Controversy has hit with several people who are unsure on the importance of the third vaccine.

With promises being given to all that a double vaccination will be an answer to handling Covid-19, many ask if they have been lied to with yet another jab now being offered.

Ruth Jackson, 54, a medical centre receptionist from Chester, had this to say, “what is the necessity for a third jab? There isn’t enough transparency around the first two that have been given. No one is explaining a real reason for the third jab. It seems to do the same thing. I feel like I just need to know more before getting on board.”

Since the first dose of vaccines at the end of 2020, numbers in deaths and hospitalisations have drastically dropped, which is why the NHS are encouraging those who can to receive the third vaccine, in the hopes to continue to keep these numbers dropping.

The NHS have said that 3.7 million people have currently received a booster jab in England and a total of 30 million people will eventually be able to have the jab.
