Covid deaths in Leeds have remained consistently low since March 2021.

In February 2020, Leeds had its first two cases of COVID-19. Since then covid cases and related deaths have fluctuated throughout the pandemic, with some areas of the UK being more highly affected than others.

In Leeds, covid cases have remained above 8,000 a month since June but related deaths have remained low in comparison. July was the worst month for COVID-19 cases which could be attributed to social distances measures ending and events opening up again. Despite the rise, the amount of deaths did not significantly increase over the following months.

Covid related deaths in the Leeds area are a small fraction of overall deaths recorded since the start of the pandemic. April saw its highest death rate of both covid related deaths and overall deaths since the pandemic started. Since then, covid related deaths have remained under 200 deaths with the exception of 234 in November 2020.
