Goose fair has reopened in Nottingham, after 3 years of being cancelled.

The Goose fair is back in Nottingham after 3 years of cancellation due to Covid-19.

Europe’s biggest fair is running for 10 days this year instead of its usual 5 days. The council decided to extend the fair as it returns following the Covid-19 pandemic.

The fair is free to enter and has over 250 rides and attractions for people of all ages. Goose fair has popular rides including the Ferris wheel, hook a duck, the dodgems and bumper cars.

Councillor Pavos Kotsonic, the portfolio holder for leisure and culture said:

“We have the thrill of having it for 10 days in a row… I think it’s important for the city as it brings back something that defines Nottingham… It’s a place for families and for people to enjoy themselves.”

A food stall holder, Milany Whimm who sells candy apples, doughnuts, and mushy peas said:

“It’s so nice to be back… with the lockdown, I never got to see my friends and family… everyone has all come together.”

Goose fair has been up and running for around 700 years, and offers many different types of entertainment to people all over the country.

A couple from Nottingham who came to spend the day at Goose fair said:

“It’s a great way for the kids to bond and spend all our money.”

Marian a pensioner who has never visited Goose fair said:

“It’s quite good actually, I’m really enjoying it here.”

The fair will run from the 30th of September till the 9th of October 2022.
