Leeds takes halloween bigger then ever

Article on the upcoming events on Halloween and what it may cause.

The halloween weekend starting today 93 events begin in Leeds to celebrate the spooky holiday of Halloween. Every event space is throwing numerous celebrations causing the local community of leeds and people travelling in to celebrate throughout the whole weekend up until Monday. Is Leeds events owners prepared?

Big names coming just for a spooky performance

Some of the biggest names in the DJing industry are coming to Leeds O2: Hybrid minds, Kanine, Mr Traumatik and many more guests are returning for a performance on Friday 28th beginning at 22:00 for the Halloween event Dnb Allstars Caged: Leeds Halloween Special. This has been spread around with excitement by many Leeds students promoting and sharing their excitement for the event.

Leeds O2 and The Wharehouse worker Nicole Robinson said: “Leeds last year was crazy, we ended up running out of many drinks served by the bar by the end of the weekend due to each events being sold out or almost sold out ever night.”

“This year is looking even more packed which has caused some worries due to stock however it seems like its going to be an extremely exciting weekend as a whole.”

Some bars such as Bar Soba are even doing an open bar for the first hour of their event to attempt to draw in and compete with the big events throughout the weekend.

Massive crowds coming for the celebrations

Leeds nightlife is heavily populated by students, in 2022 Leeds incorporates around 64,000 degree holders from University of Leeds and Leeds Beckett students reported from ukpopulation.org. When publishing a poll asking Leeds students if they are going to go out more then once to celebrate the Halloween season they replied:

The Halloween travel survey by survey monkey found out that 53% of people say they are planning on travelling last year for Halloween celebrations. Leeds is the third biggest city in the Uk and is known for the large amount of clubs and bars with good night life. This means that people from smaller towns or other cities travel to Leeds to experience a guaranteed amazing night in celebration for Halloween.

When putting out a poll asking the public if they would travel to another city to celebrate Halloween they replied:

Both universities union’s are also using the holiday to throw events on the Halloween Monday. Leeds Beckett University is holding a Halloween Karaoke night starting at 18:00. University of Leeds is hosting the Living dead festival which starts at 22:00.
