People flock to the costume shop in Headingly for outfits.

Halloween has finally arrived after much anticipation and excitement over the weekend. There have been loads of Halloween themed events in Leeds over the past three days for students and residents to go to. But where were they collecting their costumes.

Smiffy’s in Headingly appears to be the place to go for people trying to find some funky, quirky outfits. They have things ranging from a cowboy and cowgirl to a dinosaur and Borat.

The store manager, Shirley Hound, said queues can reach up to 50 people deep on the street at prime time. While most customers are students, they often do not appear at the shop till about 1pm, while the local residents can often be seen shopping there at the earlier hours.

Today, there were lots of parents collecting costumes for their young children who were going out trick or treating after school.

Dan Harthorth and his mother were in the shop at 10am this morning buying a killer clown costume for a party with friends tonight.
