Its Men's mental health awareness month.

November is here, which means Movember is back. Large groups from all over will begin to take part in this annual charity to raise awareness for men’s mental health as men grow their moustaches throughout the month.

The Priory Group said “over a third of men think they’ve had a diagnosable mental health issue at some point in their life” and there’s a study which show how many men would not discuss their feelings over a pint released by HUMEN organisation.

Leeds Beckett Cricket Team are taking part in Movember again after raising £163 last year. Sam Dorsey, a student who plays for them, has participated in Movember for three years and he says, ” together we can make a difference for men’s mental health. Far too many men are dying far too early, the smallest donation can make a massive difference.”

Members of the public in Leeds said “its a great thing what people do as it raises awareness and money for the charity” while others said “its unfair and stupid to only have one month where this awareness is raised.”

Celebrities also join in on with this charity event which will inspire others and create greater awareness for the charity as last year, for example, Jesse Wood, Joe Sugg and Royal Blood took part and this year Ian Wright hosted a live Movember shave down.

Movember began in 2003 in Australia and has now become a global event that has now funded more than 1,250 men’s health projects around the world. A global director of Movember, Brendan Maher, said, “its our hope that we can connect men with the right support, and equip their peers with the confidence and skills to reach out and help when it is most needed.”
