Having previously been offered multiple scholarships at universities across the USA, Joel Rushworths’ hopes of going pro were dented with the COVID pandemic putting a halt to all plans. Not being able to leave home, let alone travel across the world meant his pathway in the golfing world was brought to a standstill.
But having stayed at Leeds Beckett to gain his degree, going into his masters year opportunities have reappeared and he’s committed his future to Arizona state for next year becoming the first Beckett golfer to venture abroad with a chance of making a career in the sport he’s played since he was 5. Playing alongside Joel for 2 years now I spoke to him about what his future holds.
