There's lots to see and do at Leeds City Museum this half term.

Leeds City Museum has lots to offer this October half-term for those who need a free, fun day out.

Not only is the museum free, but it is extremely accessible for families with additional needs, such as families with children who are neurodivergent or have anxiety.

The museum has been offering a multitude of activities across the half term, such as a sensory room, which features dark tents, squishy floor tiles, and a bubble tube, aimed at children who may want a calming environment after all of the excitement of the museum.

There is also an exhibition on display at the museum at the moment by the Deaf Arts Forum, which is the Leeds society for deaf and blind people. The exhibition not only is accessible to those with sensory impairments but other young people can learn about the subject too.

A day out at the museum is ultimately great because it is absolutely no cost and gives families a great day out, especially with the relevant cost of living crisis. There are also completely free activities such as ‘Rory Club’, which is available to all ages, every Saturday 11 a.m.-12:15 p.m.

Gemma, who was attending the museum with her children today said ‘Everything costs at the moment, and having stuff to do, especially in the holidays, when you can have a day out and it just costs you parking makes a massive difference.’

Another family also said ‘It’s free, it’s indoors and it’s educational.’
