Leeds United celebrate their 104th Anniversary: LUTV’s Bryn Law commemorates the event

Elland Road
On the 17th October, Leeds United celebrated their 104th anniversary. Former Sky Sports correspondent and current commentator for Leeds United TV had a few words to say on the clubs history and what his current role entails.

Bryn Law is no stranger to broadcasting with an illustrious career in the sports journalism industry. Neither is he a stranger to Leeds United with this being his second spell working for and around the club. Law’s coverage has seen him work with club legends like Norman Hunter and Billy Bremner to witnessing the club’s return to the top flight of English football, for the first time in 16 years, under Marcelo Bielsa in 2020.

In terms of first memory if Leeds United, Law was in the away-end with his friend and fellow broadcaster Adrian Chiles. However, Law’s return to the club was in a working capacity. He said, “The first weekend I started working for BBC Radio Leeds they had just won the League Championship the season before. The final League Championship before the Premier League started. The city was still buzzing around the celebrations that had taken place in the aftermath of the Championship win.”

Law started at one of the highest points in Leeds history but the following years offered a tumultuous period with financial issues and relegation to England’s third-tier. When Law returned in the 19/20 season he got to witness another high point for the club under manager Marcelo Bielsa. “To see them play fantastic football under Bielsa when I first came back, they were such a good team to watch and you could tell from very early on that we were going to do really well.” Law said. “To commentate on Leeds lifting the Championship, that hasn’t happened very much in recent times for Leeds, but there have been plenty of highlights.”
