Leeds pubs are preparing for a huge turnout as England face South Africa on Saturday night.

It will be a repeat of the 2019 final, where England were outclassed by the Springboks 32-12 in Japan.

England are the only unbeaten team left in the tournament and fans are starting to believe they could go all the way to the final.

Despite being a city known for its rugby league heritage, Leeds locals flocked into pubs to watch England topple Fiji in the quarter-final on Sunday, with Leeds Rhinos legend Rob Burrow reportedly getting the union “bug”.

Following this victory, fans are expected to pile in to watch the semi-final clash with South Africa.

The Skyrack in Headingley, who are used to having large crowds with its location on the famous Otley run route, are preparing for an unprecedent level of demand.

“It’ll be crazy,” said staff member Bodhi Hepworth. “At Skyrack we hold events at special prices. If there’s a sports event on it’s always rammed,” he added.

“The pub itself will earn a lot of money from it, our managers will see it as a plus,” he explained.

In the city center, there will also be plenty of options for fans to watch the game. In particular, O’Neills and Adelphi sports bars, who have promised screenings for the match.

Fans will be able to book tables to ensure they can get the best view of the game taking place at the Stade de France in Paris.

England are looking to make it to a second successive final, where they would play either Argentina or New Zealand the following Saturday.

It was announced today that prop Joe Marler will start, replacing Marcus Smith in the starting XV.

Marler was controversially left out of the 2019 final loss, after which manager Eddie Jones admitted to regretting the decision.
