This week saw sports media company IMG release the ratings for the new Rugby League grading system, with Castleford Tigers facing a lower grade due to internal errors.

The new grading system that has been put in place by IMG is based on five factors. Fans, finance, community activities, on-field performances and stadium.

Castleford Tigers have faced an issue with the RFL with information that was meant to be submitted to decide their score based on the 5 factors above.

As a result of this issue, Tigers have come out with fewer points which ranks them 13th instead of 11th. This means if this was in 2025 when this ranking system begins, they would be in the division below the Super League.

Castleford Tigers reserves player Harry Render spoke about the new grading system and the issue Castleford Tigers have faced.
