Castleford finished second from bottom last season, managing to only achieve 6 wins in 27 games and finishing 4 points above relegated Wakefield Trinity. Newly appointed Castleford coach Craig Lingard believes that one of the problems they faced last season was because of the age of the players.
In light of this, Lingard has decided to recruit younger and ‘hungrier’ players to avoid factors such as injuries and hoping to inspire a new generation of young players who will be desperate for a chance to play first team rugby in the top flight.
