The Disability Sports Awards exist to: “celebrate and champion people with disabilities in sport.”. It’s the first edition of the awards, with various categories allowing many people and clubs to be praised for their achievements within disability sports.
Dundee Dragons Wheelchair Sports Club were one of three clubs to receive the Community and Clubs Award. Dragons coach Gemma Lumsdaine spoke about what it means for the club to receive the award, the importance of disability sports being recognised more, and whether there is enough coverage of disability sports apart from the Paralympics.
