The Movember Movement is huge for Men’s mental health and this year Leeds Beckett Golf are setting themselves the challenge of raising money for this great cause.
Beckett have challenged themselves to raise £500 as a team as well as raising awareness. Those that are taking part have chosen to clean shave their facial hair and grow a moustache. The alternative is running 60km throughout the month to represent the 60 men’s lives lost per hour through suicide.
Joe Parsons ( LBU player ) and the team have decided to take on this challenge as he says “men’s mental health is not talked about enough , its a cause that needs to be exposed a little bit more and we don’t talk enough to each other .”
” We all have Dads , Friends , uncles that probably are struggling but wont speak up”
Whilst working as a team they are also competing to see who can raise the most money , building cohesion and encourages the team to speak each other but ultimately get rid of that stigma around men’s mental health.
