Beckett thrash rivals in thrilling derby clash!

Leeds Beckett 3s defeat Uni of Leeds 2s 6-3 in an entertaining Derby

Every Beckett footballer wants to feature in a derby against there bitter rivals Uni of Leeds, and the Leeds Beckett 3s certainly showed that with their physicality and aggression in todays match. It all started after the Beckett keeper made a fantastic penalty save diving full stretch to his right to keep the Leeds Uni number 9 from opening the scoring. Leeds Beckett then went down the other end just before half time and made it 1-0 with a precision perfect free-kick that had the keeper watching the ball fly in to the back of the net.

As the second half began Leeds Uni started strongly and got a goal early n the second half making it 1-1 and then 15 minutes later made it 2-1 putting Beckett on the back foot. Frustration was shown by both sides throughout the rest of the second half with Beckett picking up a red card and Leeds Uni picking up two. However, the two Leeds Uni red cards sparked some energy inside the Beckett players helping them to go on and score five goals within the final twenty minutes of the game!

When speaking with the manager of Leeds Beckett team after the game, he expressed his delight with his teams reaction to going 2-1 down saying “what I like about this team is the passion, everyone’s together, and always try to do the best for each other, which makes me happy no matter the result”. He then later went on to say that “these 6 goals we’ve scored today add to our 20 goal tally we already have, showing the strength of our team in these early stages of the season”. This is positive signs for Leeds Beckett football’s future and todays game shows the strength and quality Leeds Beckett have to offer, and this hopes to continue throughout the season.
