Feisty affair between Arsenal and Newcastle causes chaos.

Arsenal recently made the long trip to Newcastle in the biggest game of the premier league weekend, a game which had everything and one that will be talked about for weeks to come.

The first 20 minutes saw little to no goal-mouth action with both sides playing with an edge of caution.

The game sparked into life when Arsenal midfielder Kai Havertz left the ground with two feet crashing into Sean Longstaff who stayed down for some minutes.

Referee Stuart Atwell decided a yellow card was suitable causing a rift among both sets of players and fans.

Just a couple minutes later, magpies midfielder Bruno Guimares left one on Jorginho with an elbow that surely looked intentional. However once again, Referee Atwell refused to show red and let the game continue causing more uproar.

Half time gave both sides a chance to reassess and go again for the second half in what would be a huge 3 points for either team.

In the 64th minute the moment chaos hit St James’ Park and sent the match into mayhem.

The ball which looked to be kept in play unsuccessfully by Newcastle’s Joe Willock was deemed in play and eventually led to Gordon firing home into the Gunners net.

Three seperate VAR checks followed in a lengthy stoppage that saw additional looks at offside and potential foul.

As the crowd held their breathe, 8 minutes later Atwell gave the signal for the goal sending the Geordies wild and the gunners boss left understandably furious.

The game finished 1-0 to the home side however the feud was far from over.

In the post match press conference Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta led the protests conveying his thoughts on the game and the refereeing display.

” An absolute disgrace, i am embarrassed to be a part of that. In all 20 years of me being in this country that is the worst i have ever seen”.

Artetas fate is yet to be decided however yet again, VAR takes over the weekends action and causes chaos.
