Measles cases have drasticly risen in Leeds causing concern for parents of young children.

An outbreak of measles has been seen across Yorkshire, but cases are growing faster in Leeds than anywhere else in the county.

In 2017, the world health organisation stated that the UK had eliminated measles due to the high roll out of the MMR vaccine.

However, the vaccine is at its lowest coverage in over a decade and measles is back.

So far this year there has been 10 suspected cases in Leeds with six being diagnosed in the last week.

The NHS are calling for parents to vaccinate their children as the risk continues to rise.
