Liverpool punks, STONE, performed a killer show despite storm Eunice putting a pause on public transport.

As storm Eunice terrorised Britain, STONE’s hometown show went ahead. As one of the most promising modern punk bands, it was a night no one would forget.

First up were local scouse boys, Woo. Young girls at the barrier went crazy for them as they sang an unreleased tune ‘Life Moves Slow’.

Self-proclaimed ‘northern scum’, Seb Lowe, was next on the nights line-up. A personal favourite of his was ‘Kill Him (He’s a Socialist)’, which seemed to go down pretty well. Lowe perfectly prepared the crowd for STONE’s punk attitude and revolution inspiring performance.

The audience screamed as each member charged onto the stage going straight into the first tune of the evening.

Music blared through the speakers as insane mosh pits opened with sweaty teenagers and hardcore kids on each other’s shoulders. Fans screamed the lyrics of every song back at the band at the same volume as the singer on the speakers.

The energy got higher and higher till the frontman, Finn, joined the audience, crowd surfing while STONE and co sprayed the crowd with champagne in balaclavas. Truly punk entertainment at its finest.  The power suddenly cut out and wasn’t able to be fixed. ‘You guys are gonna have to deal with a 1960s fucking rock concert’ ‘like the Beatles’, Finn exclaimed as they went into the final few songs of the evening through their amplifiers and without bass.

STONE is the perfect encapsulation of what punk means in 2022.
