With womens football becoming more popular this data reasearch was conducted to see the price of tickets across Yorkshires womens teams

The women’s game is growing all over the country, majority teams have started forming or funding the teams, but not all teams. We gathered data and discovered that the big clubs in the higher leagues put more money into their teams and also charge higher for tickets, whereas the lower league clubs either don’t cost much to watch or don’t even have a women’s team.

We looked at 30 teams across the Yorkshire region, down through the football pyramid and found out if had a women’s team and, if so, how much it would cost to watch them.

Across all 30 teams the highest price for a ticket is £10 at Sheffield United women’s The cheapest were seven teams that are free to watch. The higher league teams such as Huddersfield, Hull, Leeds, Middlesborough, Barnsley, Bradford City and Doncaster prices vary between four, five and six pounds.

Lower leagues sides who mainly focus on their men’s teams either don’t have a women’s team or don’t charge to watch games.

Hal Boxhall, media manager at Harrogate Town said ” Given we’re a football league team were not really able to play matches at the main stadium regularly because a lot of rules and regualtion in place and the cost invovled.”

“We actually play at a local sports centre so it makes it hard to charge for games and being a few years away from having games at the proper stadium.”

“A lot of them are unpaid and volunteering for the club.”

The data shown in this graph displays team that charge for tickets with bars. Those that don’t charge have none. This data shows that the higher league teams with larger fan bases are able to invest more into their teams and charge for games because of their prescence on social media to promote games.
