As-live

« Back to Glossary Index

A pre-recorded radio interview with a guest in the studio or on location.

If you are asked to do something ‘as-live’, it means it should sound as if it’s being done live, and not as an edited package.

However, you shouldn’t pretend something is live when it isn’t, so in your cue you could have the presenter say, “I spoke to…” rather than “Joining me now…”.

Save the cue and audio file with the format:

STORY AUDIO NAME

For example, if you’ve interviewed Joe Bloggs for a story about graffiti, save it as:

GRAFFITI AUDIO BLOGGS
